Cystic fibrosis is a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time.
When Cystic Fibrosis patients come into the hospital, it can be hard to cope with the isolation. One important aspect is ensuring they get sufficient time to play! In order to provide adequate play, we must have the right toys and activities. Activity kits and toy packages that are pre-made, that the children can play with and take home from the hospital, is tremendously helpful!
Though it may seem small, providing these children with play helps to normalize the hospital and make it a safe place.
About Austin Child Guidance Center
Austin Child Guidance Center is a local nonprofit that provides high-quality accessible mental health services to children and their families empowering them to thrive in childhood and beyond. The mission of ACGC is to improve the mental health of children and their families through early intervention, diagnosis and treatment to help them develop the emotional skills to face life’s challenges. ACGC believes everyone should have access to quality mental health care, not just those who can afford it.
Adopt a Family
The holiday season while meant to be a time of joy and celebration, for many it can also represent a time of stress.
YOU can make a difference this holiday season by adopting a family with Austin Child Guidance Center. Much like Blue Santa, ACGC will match you with a family and let you make the holiday magic happen. Each family has an online profile where you can securely donate. Fifty percent of the total will go directly to the family in gift cards to allow them to do stress-free holiday shopping and fifty percent will be used to offset the cost of ACGC services for the family.
Donations large and small will help make this holiday season a joyous one for a family in need.
Children's Healing Garden
Garden Volunteers can come in on a recurring basis or for one time corporate or group events. Tasks would include basic gardening duties such as watering and weeding. ACGC will provide equipment and you are welcome to bring our own. The garden provides a space for relaxation and therapeutic healing for children and families that are often experiencing grief, trauma, abuse, neglect, phobias, and parent-child relationship issues.

Texas Baptist Children’s Home embraces children and families in need in order to empower and equip them for a promising future. Children and single mothers who come to TBCH are often lost, hurting, and hopeless, without a place to turn for help during their time of greatest need. Our residential programs provide a safe home and a stable family environment where they can learn, grow, and ultimately experience a happy, healthy future.

Make a Cash Donation
Join the Austin community in donating socks to children in need. Socks aren’t often donated and when they are, they aren’t usually new. Homeless and displaced children need the basics and our community is responding to make sure they are covered. Socks are one of the most requested items in homeless shelters, but least donated.
BNI Business Voices Team Austin has worked together to donate thousands of pairs of socks every year to make sure that homeless children in Austin have socks and basic supplies.
Socks can be given to your area BNI Chapter or left at these supporting businesses:
Kazdon Inc 4210 Spicewood Springs Rd. Suite 104 Austin, TX 78759
Parmer Eye Care 9900 W Parmer Ln #210, Austin, TX 78717
